1 cup tomato sauce (homemade or store bought)
3/4 cup roasted red pepper hummus
1 tbsp harissa sauce
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp minced garlic
1/2 cup water or vegetable broth
1 tsp Italian seasoning
Salt to taste
You will need: 1 large pan
Turn pan on medium heat. Add water and garlic, cook for 5 minutes.
Add tomato sauce and heat for another 5 minutes. Slowly begin adding hummus and use spoon to mix in with tomato sauce until evenly creamy.
Add lemon juice, harissa sauce and Italian seasoning. Mix everything well and let simmer for a few minutes.
Add more water or vegetables broth if you desire a less creamier consistency. Adjust harissa sauce according to spice level.
Add to your favorite pasta!
